His Place Shelter

Meet James!

He is the director of “His Place” Men’s Shelter at Bright Bridge Ministries in Pensacola. James helps homeless men who are ready to take a step away from life on the streets and into the full life and future that God has in store for them. Men in the program have mentors, job training, transportation, faith-based recovery classes, continuing education classes, life skills classes, discipleship classes, and of course, housing at the shelter. James and his team help address all of the obstacles that keep so many men living on the streets. He is breaking the cycle of poverty while making disciples of Jesus.

James loves God, loves his neighbor, and is connecting people to Jesus.

Fun Facts:

  • “His Place” Shelter is full each night with 34 men sleeping off the streets.
  • Nine men are now off the streets and living in the four rooms that Community Life Church renovated this Spring.
  • Since opening on July 14th, 2022, 35 men have gotten jobs and moved out and into stable, safe housing.
  • Each month, 15-20 guys either get a job or are promoted to a better job.
  • They are working on attaining grants to renovate another wing of their building to double the size of their shelter in 2023.
